PLAY-IN-SUGAR...BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS!
My business, Blue Ivy Company & Cakery added a new service called Play-in-Sugar. It's my friend, Chef Deloraine Wellington of Delicious Blessings and I teaches cake decorating at children's party. Deloraine has the experience on a larger scale doing children's parties of this sort, while I on the other hand have taught the children in my Children's Church class baking and decorating cookies. The youngsters loved decorating the cakes and were just having a blast especially when we have the challenge.
BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS!
Want to book your party with us? Go to my website Blue Ivy Company & Cakery and go to Play-in-Sugar to book your party. There will not be one dull moment at your next party and the kids will have a BLAST!!
Last month we had one of our largest group of about 35 girls and boys at the party of Deloraine's friend, Ayda daughter. Below is a video of pictures we took of the "decorators-in-training."

Garth & Tiffany Parke Wedding Cake
This cake for Garth and Tiffany Parke I made and delivered to the beautiful Wyndham Sea Gardens Resort, Pompano Beach, Florida for a wedding ceremony on the beach and reception across the street at the resort. I never thought this would have been one of my most bespoken cakes because of the sugar orchids and hibiscus cascading down the side of the cake. I think I got carried away with the flowers compared to the picture Garth sent me for inspiration. The couple wanted a yellow cake with American butter cream. I made shells using white chocolate and white candy melts, then dust with pearl luster dust. The final touch on the cake was airbrushing cake with pearlized color to give the dewy and shimmery look.
The lovely couple and mother of the bride were very happy with the result. I met Tiffany in December 2009 when I attended the wedding of her sister Tangella, whose wedding cake I also made and was a big hit too.

Garth & Tiffany's Wedding Cake
I got carried away making orchids and hibiscus flowers! I was experiencing one of those 'spiritaul moments' beacuse I felt Him working through me to create another sugar-art masterpiece (see picture posted above).
This cake I made for our nephew's sister-in-laws. The wedding was on the beach and the reception held at the Wyndham Seahorse Resort, Pompano Beach, Florida.
The cake was a yellow cake filled and covered with American buttercream which I airburshed with Super Pearl Sheen. The shells were made using white chocolate and white candy melts then dusted with Super Pearl. The orchids, hibisus and filler flowers made using gumpaste. I was really happy how this cake turned out. I did not wait through the whole wedding, but before I got home, I received a text of "Thank you..." and how well it was received.
If the bride and groom are happy, then I'm happy.
Walk good till next time...

Baby Noah
This cake has been one of my most popular piece of art. Yes; it is a piece of art. Because every forming, molding, shaping and colouring, for me, is an expression of the creative essence that God has placed in me. If I should never earn great wealth doing cake decorating, I will still have joy because I feel I am doing and using what God has given me to make others happy.
In the way Noah received the promise from God after the flood subsides; I see my rainbow in the sky too...what a wonderful God we serve!!
Remember: baking is a science; cake decorating is an art...
Happy caking and walk good till next time...
